Kids Brio Slip-On / Cacao Leather

Room for little toes.

Our original slip-on, sized for little feet. The Kids Brio pairs a wide toe box with a flexible, zero-drop leather sole, so toes have room to spread and feet can move naturally.

Cacao Leather brings deep, earthy character to an everyday favorite.

What is grounding?

Grounding means making an electrical connection between your body and the Earth. The Kids Brio has a pure copper plug through its leather sole, creating a conductive path when you stand or walk on a conductive ground surface.

The copper connection is one part of the design. The wide toe box, zero-drop heel, and flexible sole are what let your feet move naturally.

Kids Brio Slip-On / Cacao Leather

Room for natural movement.

A wide, foot-shaped toe area gives little toes room to spread. The zero-drop design keeps the heel and forefoot level, while the flexible leather sole bends with each step.

I bought these shoes for my daughter- they are so cute. The sizing seems to run a little smaller. We're excited to using them.

Excellent quality!! We love these shoes, handmade to order. Just be careful before they are worn in the sole can be a tad slippery.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should the Kids Brio fit?

Use the Kids Brio measurement chart below to compare foot length and width. Measure both feet and use the larger measurement; the chart also includes US and EU sizes. Approximate age is a guide, not a substitute for measuring.

See the full measurement chart ↓

What is the sole made from?

The sole is natural water buffalo leather, with a pure copper grounding plug. It is flexible and zero drop, keeping the heel and forefoot level.

How does the copper grounding plug work?

The copper plug runs through the sole, providing a conductive path between your foot and a conductive surface such as soil or grass. Contact with the ground matters; insulating surfaces interrupt that path.

How do I care for my pair?

Brush away dry dirt gently and let the pair air dry away from direct heat. Avoid soaking or machine washing. Use care products suited to the leather finish; smooth-leather conditioners can change the look of suede or nubuck.

Beautiful shoes! High quality. If you live where your kids can’t always run barefoot outside, these are the perfect grounding, wide sole, all leather solution!

Perfect for my girls' needs

I've been compromising since my two girls could walk on which shoe they should be wearing. They are 6 and 2, and most of the time I encourage them to just go barefoot, but when we need to go into town or during winter, the solution was whatever was cheapest at the thrift store. They outgrow shoes so quick and don't wear them often anyways, so it hasn't been a big deal.Fast forward to the present; where my knowledge on foot health has grown, barefoot shoes (earthrunners) personally healed my feet of fallen arches, my understanding on how electrical our bodies are continues to increase (therefore the need for grounding), and finally the choice of just saying NO to garbage shoes. So I jumped at the chance when there was a stellar deal for myself to get some used Rhizals. I wear them EVERYWHERE, ALL THE TIME. They are maybe gross by now, but I don't even care. They still look good. I just wouldn't lick them, ya know? I wear them for animal chores (including mucking out barns), I wear them in snow and mud, I wear them for nice and work. I don't wear any other shoe! I am a little extreme, but I paid for these shoes, so I am going to get all the life out of them that I can, then I will just buy another pair. A high quality shoe is worth the price. By the way, they're holding up great to my abuse - I just wash them each time I come in to remove any mud or poop. (: So my three sons and husband have been very impressed by my Rhizals and try to sneak them on whenever I'm not wearing them. So I made them a deal, where if they pay for half of the price, I will pay for the other half in order to get them each a pair. We got the three boys each a pair and they love them; they're now the same as me, they wear them everywhere. My girls were the only ones without some Rhizals so I offered them the same deal. We just received them last week, and they're the only shoe my girls are wearing now. They are a perfect fit for each of the children, they're so comfortable, they are easy to clean up, and I love that their feet are shaping the shoe, the shoe is not shaping their foot. Plus, they're just stinking adorable. They are the shoe of choice for fast paced children who need to slip a shoe on before they race out the door. Especially now that it's winter and it isn't as comfortable to go outside barefoot when it's 20 degrees out. (:
