What is grounding?
Grounding means making an electrical connection between your body and the Earth. The Kuyu has a pure copper plug through its leather sole, creating a conductive path when you stand or walk on a conductive ground surface.
The copper connection is one part of the design. The wide toe box, zero-drop heel, and flexible sole are what let your feet move naturally.

How should the Kuyu fit?

Will the leather soften with wear?
Yes. Natural leather stretches and breaks in. A snug fit can relax, but do not rely on break-in to fix toes that feel jammed. Try your pair carefully indoors first.
What makes these barefoot shoes?
The Kuyu combines a wide toe box, a zero-drop heel, and a thin, flexible sole. That means room for your toes and freedom to move, in an everyday clog.
How does the copper plug work?
The copper plug passes through the sole to create a conductive connection with the ground. Grounding depends on contact with a conductive surface; the plug does not make every surface conductive. Learn more about grounding.

They arrived in Spain, but when they got to my house, I had to pay an extra €20 (on top of the hefty international shipping costs) for customs. The shoes themselves are beautiful. It's true that they run small. I ordered almost two sizes up. The copper pin is great, but it digs in a bit, and if you're completely barefoot, it's a little uncomfortable because it doesn't sit perfectly flat on the sole. In terms of width and the barefoot concept, I wish they were a bit wider. They're quite snug. 7.5/10

I absolutely love Rhizal shoes. I bought a pair of the Brio's a few years ago and they have served me extremely well so I decided to order these in order to have a slipper type shoe that would be extremely easy to slip on and off. They just arrived today and they are perfect. They feel very luxurious on my feet and I look forward to wearing them in. Great craftsmanship, grounded and natural materials. Okay, I was super excited to get these in the mail and the absolutely did not disappoint! I love the feel and everything about the leather. I love that these are grounded. The only thing I would change is maybe going up a size more than I did. I usually wear a size 7.5 because my feet are wide, otherwise I could properly wear a size 7. I went up to an 8 because they didn’t offer half sizes, and hindsight I almost wish I had gone with a 9. The wide toe box is great, and the leather does stretch and adjust so nicely to the foot, but the soles just aren’t very long. Even with my short toes my heels are right on the edge of the sole- especially if I’m wearing socks with them. All too say I recommend these so highly, but would definitely also recommend sizing up at least one but maybe two sizes for a comfortable fit

These are my everyday go-to shoes this winter! I've had them for about a month now and they're great with big wool socks, they're cute, and they're comfortable. If you've worn berks in the past, know that they don't feel as grippy as clogs with arches. But I don't have issues with them sliding off.Thanks for making these. I'm so in love.

I have at least seven pairs of Rhizal shoes now. I had to return these for a bigger size since I will probably end up wearing socks with them in winter and didn’t think of that when I ordered them in summer.
