I've been compromising since my two girls could walk on which shoe they should be wearing. They are 6 and 2, and most of the time I encourage them to just go barefoot, but when we need to go into town or during winter, the solution was whatever was cheapest at the thrift store. They outgrow shoes so quick and don't wear them often anyways, so it hasn't been a big deal.Fast forward to the present; where my knowledge on foot health has grown, barefoot shoes (earthrunners) personally healed my feet of fallen arches, my understanding on how electrical our bodies are continues to increase (therefore the need for grounding), and finally the choice of just saying NO to garbage shoes. So I jumped at the chance when there was a stellar deal for myself to get some used Rhizals. I wear them EVERYWHERE, ALL THE TIME. They are maybe gross by now, but I don't even care. They still look good. I just wouldn't lick them, ya know? I wear them for animal chores (including mucking out barns), I wear them in snow and mud, I wear them for nice and work. I don't wear any other shoe! I am a little extreme, but I paid for these shoes, so I am going to get all the life out of them that I can, then I will just buy another pair. A high quality shoe is worth the price. By the way, they're holding up great to my abuse - I just wash them each time I come in to remove any mud or poop. (: So my three sons and husband have been very impressed by my Rhizals and try to sneak them on whenever I'm not wearing them. So I made them a deal, where if they pay for half of the price, I will pay for the other half in order to get them each a pair. We got the three boys each a pair and they love them; they're now the same as me, they wear them everywhere. My girls were the only ones without some Rhizals so I offered them the same deal. We just received them last week, and they're the only shoe my girls are wearing now. They are a perfect fit for each of the children, they're so comfortable, they are easy to clean up, and I love that their feet are shaping the shoe, the shoe is not shaping their foot. Plus, they're just stinking adorable. They are the shoe of choice for fast paced children who need to slip a shoe on before they race out the door. Especially now that it's winter and it isn't as comfortable to go outside barefoot when it's 20 degrees out. (:
