RHIZAL HELP CENTER
Find your fit. Choose your lenses. Get help with your order.
FootwearChoosing your size.
Most RHIZAL styles fit true to size and are designed to be worn without socks. The women's Brio and Kuyu run a touch small.
If you're between sizes, each product page has a sizing tab with more info for that style.
There is some flexibility in the sizing, as a snug pair will stretch and break in more than a relaxed pair. Ideally they will be slightly snug at first and quickly break-in to perfection. You may prefer to size up if you prefer a relaxed fit or plan on wearing thick socks.
We offer free size exchanges within the US. International exchanges must cover return shipping.
For exchanges, reach us at: info@rhizal.co
For style-specific guidance, use our Size Finder →
FootwearHow snug is okay when I first try on my shoes?
Comfortably snug is okay. The leather will soften and give with wear. Your toes should not feel smashed or jammed against the end, and you should not have to endure pain to break them in.
If they feel good from the start, that’s great too—you don’t need to choose a tighter pair just for the sake of breaking them in.
Unsure about your size? Use our Size Finder for style-specific guidance, or email info@rhizal.co before wearing them outdoors.
GlassesShould I choose day or night lenses?
Day lenses are yellow: choose them for daytime screen use and artificial indoor lighting.
Night lenses are red-orange: choose them for screens and indoor lighting after sunset. Night lenses should not be worn while driving.
Matching frame numbers have the same design and measurements; the lens tint and filtering profile change. Compare day and night glasses →
BedsheetsHow do I set up my grounding bedsheets?
Your bedsheet comes with a US outlet tester and the cable needed for outlet grounding. Fit it to your mattress, check the outlet with the included tester, and follow the supplied instructions to connect the sheet to the ground port of a properly grounded outlet.
The outdoor grounding stake is optional and sold separately, but we recommend and prefer it when your situation allows—for example, when a nearby window gives you easy access to Earth ground outside.
Returns & exchangesCan I exchange for another size?
RHIZAL shoes offer flexibility in the way they fit. If on the snug side they will stretch more, and on the big side, some may prefer a more relaxed fit.
Ideally they should be slightly snug (but not constricting or jamming your toes) to a perfect fit at the beginning, and then will mold to your foot.
If you do need a different size, no problem!

GlassesHow do I choose a frame that fits?
Compare the frame measurements on each product page with glasses you already wear comfortably, especially the bridge and overall width. Frame designs vary in size, so check the specific style rather than choosing by color alone.
Need help? Email info@rhizal.co with the style you like and the measurements of your current glasses.
We offer one free US exchange for glasses, just like our footwear. If you need a different frame, contact us to arrange it. See the full exchange and return policy →
GlassesCan I order prescription or reading glasses?
We cannot currently offer prescription or reading lenses with our yellow day or red-orange night blue blockers.
If you love the horn frames and want regular glasses, we can arrange a custom order. Email info@rhizal.co with the frame you like and what you need so we can help.
BedsheetsWhich bedsheet size should I choose?
These are fitted sheets, so choose the size that matches your mattress. Check the dimensions on the product page, including mattress depth, before ordering.
If your mattress is unusually deep or between sizes, email info@rhizal.co with its measurements so we can confirm the right fit before you buy.
BedsheetsHow do I wash and care for my grounding bedsheets?
Hand wash and air dry for maximum longevity. If machine washing, use a cold delicate cycle with mild detergent.
Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and dryer sheets, as these can reduce conductivity. Air dry or tumble dry on low heat.
Returns & exchangesCan I return them?
If you don't want to exchange for a different style or size, we offer a 14-day return window for shoes in unworn condition (including the bottoms). Please try on your shoes carefully indoors to be eligible.
See our full refund policy for full details, fees and special cases. Store credit or exchanges are encouraged.
Contact us to start a return.
Orders & shippingHow can I check when my order will ship?
Check whether your item was in stock or made to order when you purchased. Made-to-order footwear needs production time before shipping; see the made-to-order answer for details.
You will be notified when your order ships. If you are unsure of its status, email info@rhizal.co with your order number so we can check it for you.
FootwearWhat does RHIZAL mean?
RHIZAL (RY - zal) is inspired by the mycorrhizal network: a communication network in the soil where trees communicate with each other through their roots.
Myco means fungi, and rhizal means roots (or of roots, from singular rhizae).
RHIZAL represents reconnection to the living breathing Earth.
FootwearWhat does barefoot mean?
Most shoes today have serious issues: They smash your toes into a narrow point and have cushion and "support" that weaken your feet.
Barefoot shoes have:
- a wide toebox, giving your toes the space they need.
- no raised heel and no arch support, perfect for natural foot movement.
- a thin and flexible sole, so you feel the ground.
FootwearWhat does grounded mean?
Earth has a natural negative charge which your ancestors were in sync with 24/7.
When you spend all day indoors or wear rubber-soled shoes outdoors, you are now almost never grounded (in sync with Earth's charge).
RHIZALs have a pure 100% copper plug which goes through the sole of the shoe. Your foot is making contact with the copper, and the copper is making contact with the ground.
The natural leather sole is fairly conductive on its own as it is a biologically native material. The copper plug creates an undeniable connection.
While they are designed to be worn without socks, you will still be grounded with most socks (especially if natural materials, and if you're even slightly sweating).

FootwearDo RHIZALs really work?
It's simple to test if RHIZALs really ground you with a voltmeter or continuity meter.
That's the easy part. Because if you're touching conductive copper in the sole, and that copper is touching the ground, you can be confident that your foot is conducting with the ground. Even without the copper, our leather-only sole is conductive, just not as much as copper for an undeniable grounded connection.
But do they really work? Check out this little experiment:

FootwearWhat surfaces are grounded?
Simply touching copper doesn't ground you. Copper is highly conductive, so your foot is "touching" the ground via the copper.
Surfaces that are grounded: concrete sidewalks, grass, dirt, and sand.
Surfaces that are not grounded: indoor floors, and asphalt roads.
FootwearWill grounding still work with socks?
Yes. Most natural material socks (like cotton and wool) are semi-conductive - especially with a little moisture from your skin. Synthetic socks like nylon or polyester can reduce conductivity, but you’ll still generally be grounded.
RHIZAL shoes are most often worn without socks, but if you do prefer to wear socks, we recommend cotton or wool.
FootwearWill they smell if I don't wear socks?
No! You'll be amazed how effective the natural leather is at absorbing sweat and minimizing smell.
RHIZALs are designed to be worn without socks, but go for it if you prefer! You'll still be grounded.
FootwearCan you feel the copper plug?
Pretty much no. It's flat on the side that your foot touches.
When brand new, the copper plug sticks out slightly on the ground-facing side. Copper is a soft metal so this will wear down until flush. This ensures you always have great contact to stay grounded. You may feel it slightly at first, but not a problem.
They're the most comfortable shoes you'll ever own!
FootwearDoes the leather sole have traction?
Our shoes don't have synthetic rubber-plastic outsoles - just natural water buffalo leather.
When new, the leather sole can feel a little slick - but once you take your first walk on concrete, the scuffs will quickly add traction.
FootwearCan I get them wet?
It is not recommended. They are natural leather, and getting them wet can speed up how quickly they wear. But a little won't ruin them, don't worry too much!
The Rana flip flop can get wet, but can be slicker than "normal" flip flops!
FootwearWill you have more colors and styles?
Yes! We're always working on more. Let us know what you hope to see!
We can accomodate certain custom orders, like if you see a color on a different style. And sometimes we have leathers not shown on the website!
Custom orders are final-sale. Reach out: info@rhizal.co
FootwearWhere are they made?
RHIZALs are handcrafted by highly skilled artisans in Turkey, India, and Pakistan using traditional generational methods.
Our workshops are small, family-owned facilities where artisans still hand-cut and stitch each pair - the same way traditional leather shoes have been made for centuries.
Orders & shippingDo you ship internationally?
We do! International shipping costs are calculated at checkout.
For international returns or exchanges, you must cover return shipping back to us.
Import taxes may apply depending on your country and are your responsibility.
GlassesWill my horn frames look exactly like the photos?
Each pair is handcrafted from natural water buffalo horn. Grain, color, and translucence vary, so no two frames are exactly alike. We group them by color tone.
If you want to approve your exact frame, email info@rhizal.co immediately after placing your order, before it ships.
GlassesHow do I clean and care for horn frames?
Gently wipe the frames with a lightly damp cloth and a little mild soap if needed. Use lukewarm water, avoid soaking or very hot water, and dry them promptly.
Occasionally apply a very light coat of natural oil to the horn to help keep it conditioned.
GlassesDo the glasses come with a case?
Yes. Each pair includes a premium leather case.
BedsheetsWhat are the grounding bedsheets made from?
They are woven from 90% organic cotton and 10% conductive silver thread. The silver thread provides the conductive connection when the sheet is properly connected to ground.
BedsheetsDo I need an outdoor grounding stake?
No—the included cable allows outlet grounding, and a US outlet tester is included.
However, we recommend and prefer the outdoor grounding stake when your situation allows, such as a nearby window with easy access to Earth ground outside. The stake is optional and sold separately.
